There is nothing like an early morning stroll inside the Etruscan walls of Cortona Old Town, exploring every corner of the town on foot, walking up and down (mostly up) 😊 cobblestone streets while nodding and exchanging a ‘buongiorno’ with passersby.
Along these delightful medieval streets you will discover charming and mysterious narrow alleyways, squares at various levels, elegant Renaissance architectural jewels, bell towers, museums, splendid churches and sanctuaries spanning many periods and so much more!
Turn another corner and find yourself walking down a winding narrow path where one side is filled with flowered terraces and clotheslines and then the world opens on the other side with panoramic views that leave you breathless. Things that make this city incredibly magical. But what makes Cortona truly special is the culture with which it has preserved the authenticity of local life.
And as the town slowly awakens, the aroma of freshly baked morning cornetti and bread, espresso, and Italian deliciousness fills the air.
We are so excited for our guests that are attending ‘A Taste of Tuscany’ Culinary Adventures this coming September who will have the wonderful opportunity to set out and explore this medieval, quintessential, and lovely hilltop town.
See you in Cortona!
