Gluten-Free Flour Blends & Mixes

For convenience, we have included some of the commercially made, premixed flour blends we sometimes use in our Culinary Genes Kitchen. Please keep in mind that, because gluten-free flour does not behave the same way as wheat flour, a gluten-free mix may work well for one recipe but not for another.

Caputo Gluten-Free Flour

A product from Mulino Caputo, a mill located in Naples, Italy that is known for producing high-quality flours and baking products. It is also a favorite in the Culinary Genes kitchen. This flour is specifically formulated to offer a substitute for wheat flour in baking, providing an option for those with gluten sensitivities or celiac disease. The Caputo Gluten-Free Flour is designed to mimic the baking properties of traditional wheat flour as closely as possible. This means it can be used in a wide range of recipes, from bread and pizza dough to cakes and pastries, without compromising on texture or flavor.

Bob’s Red Mill Gluten-Free All Purpose Baking Flour

A commercially made blend that contains the following stone ground flours: garbanzo bean flour, potato starch, whole grain white sorghum flour, tapioca flour and fava bean flour. This blend is a great option for those with celiac disease or a gluten sensitivity. This gluten free flour blend can replace regular all-purpose flour in a variety of recipes. We also like this blend because there are times we prefer using powdered psyllium husk as a binding agent. This gluten-free all-purpose baking flour blend works well in recipes that call for baking powder or yeast and is ideal for many gluten-free recipes such as, pasta dough, pie crust, and pizza.

King Arthur Measure-for-Measure Gluten-Free Flour

A commercially made 1:1 flour blend that is gluten-free, dairy-free, and Non-GMO. Simply substitute this flour for an easy and convenient swap for conventional flours. Ingredients are white rice flour, whole grain brown rice flour, whole sorghum flour, tapioca starch, potato starch, cellulose, xanthan gum, and is fortified with iron, calcium, and vitamin B. This flour mix is best suited for non-yeasted recipes such as muffins, cookies, and cakes.
