Last night we decided to make some healthy snacks for those days when you’re on the go but want to snack well. Sometimes, your schedule can be downright crazy, and making the right choices when it comes to healthy foods becomes difficult, especially when the afternoon rolls around and you begin craving for a snack that is either sweet, crunchy, salty or all three!
Below is an easy and simple recipe for homemade apple and banana crisps. There are many apples to choose from with each one offering a different taste. Experiment with some of your favorite apples to see which one you like best.
These delicate crisps are sweet and crunchy and without any added sugars. We like mixing apple and banana crisps with our favorite nuts, coconut flakes, and sometimes we add dark chocolate to the mix, or simply eat them as is. Hope this treat hits the spot!

2 Apples
1 tablespoon cinnamon (can substitute with all spice or pumpkin spice)
Directions
Preheat oven to 225 degrees F (107 degrees C).
Line 2 baking sheet with parchment paper.
Wash and dry the apples. You can core them or leave as is but leave the skin on. Evenly slice apples, about 1/8 inch thick, using a sharp knife or a mandolin.
Place sliced apples on the prepared baking sheets in a single layer, about 1/2 inch apart. Evenly sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake for 1 hour and then turn each slice over. Continue to bake for another hour and 30 minutes or longer. The longer they bake, the crispier they become.
Remove from oven and let apples cool completely on the baking sheet. They will get crispy as they cool.

2 bananas, peeled
2 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
Directions
Preheat oven to 225 degrees F.
Line 2 baking sheet with parchment paper then lightly brush the parchment paper with olive oil.
Peel and slice bananas into 1/8th inch thick slices then place them in the prepared baking sheet, in a single layer, about 1/2 inch apart. Consider slicing them on top of the baking sheet as they are sticky and hard to move from the cutting board to the baking sheet. Lightly brush the top of the bananas with lemon juice.
Bake for 2 hours then turn them over using a stainless steel spatula and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and let bananas cool in the baking sheet.
