Go Nuts with Anise Taralli From Pasqualina's Table!

Thank you to all that have made this recipe from my new book and shared pictures with me. They look fantastically delicious!

Here is a slight modification to this recipe resembling the traditional “Taralli Napoletani” (without the lard!) should you want to go nuts - no pun intended 😀

Modification to the recipe:

  • Add 2 cups roasted almonds, chopped (or keep whole), to the flour and mix well.

  • When dough is ready, roll onto a slightly floured surface and cut dough into 1.8 ounce pieces, then roll each piece into 8 inch strips (thin cylinder shaped) and cut in half. Bring the ends of each strip together and twist each strip around each other. Finally, close the strips to form a round “tarallo”!

  • Feel free to top with whole almonds before baking.
